At Reclaim we are here to clean up festival fields by transforming tent waste into fun, vibrant, water resistant garments, perfect for festivals or to be used for your everyday outdoor activities.
We are more than just a brand, we are a community. Proving that being sustainable, ethical and caring doesn’t have to be boring and upsetting. Together we can do that right thing and have a great time in the process.
Five years ago, I took a leap and applied to study fashion at university. I wasn’t entirely sure if it was the right path for me, but I craved change and needed to do something creative.
About a year and a half into my course, the pandemic hit, and we were all stuck at home. My mum and I set up a makeshift workbench outside, basking in the glorious sunshine, playing around with fabrics. Our original plan was to rescue the abandoned clothes left at festivals and rework them into something fabulous.
As an eco-conscious festival lover, the post-festival wasteland always broke my heart. So, there we were, surrounded by heaps of discarded clothes, when we stumbled upon some tent material. In a flash of inspiration, we realised this could be turned into ponchos.
And thus began the long, tedious journey of testing the fabric to see if it could actually be transformed into wearable clothing. It was a tough balancing act, juggling this project alongside my university studies, but I managed it. Now, I’m on a mission to clean up festival fields, no matter how long it takes.
